Because every StableComfort system is manufactured specifically for your stall dimensions, accurate measurements help ensure a smooth installation and optimal performance.

Every StableComfort system is customized based on your stall dimensions. The number of mattresses installed on the stall floor and the number of mattresses used for their rubber crumb will vary depending on the size of your stall and whether you choose StableComfort or StableComfort Premium.

Yes.

Many customers install their StableComfort system themselves. The installation process is straightforward, and we provide detailed resources to help guide you through every step.

The most common approach is to build a small frame around the waterer using 2x4s lumber and attach the top cover and fastening strips to that frame.

This creates a clean, secure finish while maintaining the waterproof integrity of the system.

Refer to the installation examples below for recommended configurations.

The StableComfort top cover must be secured approximately 2 inches (5 cm) up the surrounding surface.

If your stall includes steel framing, we typically recommend building a mounting frame around the stall perimeter, or using concrete anchors designed for your specific installation.

To provide greater installation flexibility, we supply an extra foot of top-cover material around the perimeter of the stall.

StableComfort dramatically reduces bedding requirements because the comfort is built into the flooring system.

With traditional stall flooring, bedding is used for both comfort and absorption. With StableComfort, bedding is primarily used for moisture management.

Most owners find they can reduce bedding use by approximately 50% to 75%, depending on stall occupancy, horse behaviour, cleaning routines, and the type of bedding used.

The complete StableComfort stall mattress system is not designed for horse trailers. Each mattress section is extremely heavy and engineered to provide long-term support in permanent stall installations.

For trailer applications, we recommend exploring our StableFlooring solutions, which are specifically designed for trailer floors, barn aisles, grooming areas, and other high-traffic equine environments.

StableComfort was specifically designed and tested for horses. We do not recommend using the system for pigs, as they may damage the top cover material, potentially compromising the integrity of the system.

The StableComfort system itself does not absorb urine. The waterproof top cover prevents moisture from entering the flooring system.

If ammonia odors are present, the most common causes are:

• Insufficient absorbent bedding being used
• Dietary factors that increase ammonia production
• Urine absorption into surrounding stall walls or wooden surfaces

In most cases, a mild soapy solution or a heavily diluted bleach mixture should take care of it.

Yes.

Because some materials may be stored outdoors prior to shipping, mattresses can occasionally arrive slightly damp. This does not affect product performance, durability, hygiene, or safety.

The mattress fabric is made from polypropylene, an inert material that does not support mold growth and is not damaged by moisture exposure.

No.

The StableComfort system is engineered as a complete flooring solution, with each layer playing an important role in comfort, moisture management, and long-term performance. Installing the top cover without the mattress layer may allow moisture migration from below, depending on your base material.

Please note that installing an incomplete system will void the product warranty.

Absolutely.

StableComfort performs exceptionally well over heated floors and can help create an even more comfortable environment for your horse.
